The Force of My Yeshua is the story of a journey--one that involved much soul searching and many years traveling down many different roads, with the one goal: finding the way home to the Father.
It is an autobiography, and yet, it doesn't quite fit within that "box." Instead, The Force of My Yeshua is more like a journal of discovery as the author, T.A. Veach, searched for truth. The style of the writing could almost be described as lyrical at times, flowing from sentence to sentence in a dreamlike way. The wording is often full of imagery, seeming at times to be "other worldly." It is this style that will make Ms. Veach's book and her message more appealing to her target readership.
Although the testimony to be found in the pages of The Force of My Yeshua may be of interest to the Christian reader, the reality is that this book is very clearly directed to those who are still wandering down wrong paths in search of the Father. Ms. Veach communicates her message in a language that would be clearly understandable to the spiritually sensitive seeker of truth--in particular, those who have been exploring the New Age or Eastern religions.
For the Christian reader, this wording may, at times, seem a little unusual and unsettling, for example, the references to "spirit dust" and the author's "force." However, these terms are all very much a part of her journey into the light of understanding and will find instant recognition with specific readers.
Although this book is not targeted directly at the Christian reader, there are still some very valuable lessons to be learned. One was the importance of knowing what we believe and being willing to share that in open dialog with our spiritually sensitive friends--even when they believe that Christianity is nothing more than a glorified myth. The second thing was that after sowing years of seed into seemingly impenetrable soil, it only takes the smallest of openings for one of those seeds to finally take root and eventually bear great fruit. Finally, there was also a challenge to long time Christians to not be lukewarm in their worship or in their relationship with God.
As a reader, there were some aspects of the book where I felt that the author needed to be a little more specific. Many things were alluded to, particularly in the early chapters of the book, which left the more inquisitive reader wanting to know more. This was most evident in regard to the "spiritual plague" that led to the decline of her family church and, ultimately, to her falling away from the faith of her childhood. Although the details of these events weren't absolutely essential to the telling of Ms. Veach's story, they would have provided a firmer foundation for the rest of her book and perhaps led to a stronger identification for the reader. As it was, there were times throughout the book when the author moved on, leaving me behind for a moment and wanting to know more.
Overall, this is a passionate book, written by a woman who is passionately in love with her God. It is honest and often vulnerable, while beckoning other seekers to follow her to the truth. The title of Ms. Veach's book is not only a statement, but also a challenge to others to discover the Force of her Yeshua for themselves.
